Digital Media Planner Berkeley, CA / Washington, D.C.

Has the world of agency or retail media planning and buying left you feeling unfulfilled? Did your dreams of making the world a better place fade as work became just another paycheck?

If so, come join us at Trilogy. You'll help expand our growing digital advertising team in Berkeley, CA or Washington, DC. We manage digital marketing programs for progressive political campaigns, organizations, and nonprofits that are reshaping what’s possible in the world of politics. If you're ready to use your planning and buying chops to make a positive impact in the world in an exciting, team-focused environment, please apply today.

Your core job as a media planner will be to take rough client budgets and strategic plans and build fully developed multi-channel media plans. These plans should be detailed enough to hand off to the trafficking and operations team for execution. They should also be clear enough to distribute to external resources such as contractors.

To accomplish that, you will:

Adapt your existing expertise to a complex and ever evolving political landscape, where up to date knowledge about the major platforms, channels, and mediums is a must. With little active management, you will take multimillion dollar budgets from nascent ideas and form them into executable planning documents. This will require you to be responsible for knowing current CPMs and rate cards for all vendors and platforms as well as understanding what other costs will be included into specific plans, such as: web design and development, creative costs, and all associated data cost for targeting (DMPs, First Party Lists, and IP targeting). All Trilogy employees are also require to complete timesheets on a daily basis.

Although political expertise is not a necessity to qualify for this position, you should at least be intrigued by progressive candidates, causes, and organizations. Our team of highly experienced strategists will be available to help provide guidance, but personal interest in politics will help you immensely.

Ideal candidates will be college graduates with 2-3 years of media buying or planning experience, preferably at an agency or an in-house buying team. You should be comfortable with budgets of all sizes, typically ranging from five figures to seven figures.

Strong quantitative and communications skills are a must, and you must be able to take full responsibility for the projects that are assigned to you. You must make sure that your portion of the client load is handled efficiently and accurately.

While not required, we will look favorably on candidates who have any of the following:

  • Experience with landing page testing and optimization
  • Familiarity with remarketing and conversion pixel placement, cookie technology, Google Analytics, and CRM systems
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and/or Javascript/jQuery
  • Familiarity with advertising technology and placement/optimization tools
