Digital Production Manager Berkeley, CA / Chicago, IL / Washington, D.C.

Trilogy Interactive leads digital programs that produce results and propel movements for some of the biggest names in progressive politics, issue advocacy, and the not-for-profit space. We strive to make a positive difference in the world, advancing the progressive community's fight by developing digital advertising campaigns that activate supporters and change minds in a positive way.

Trilogy is looking for an experienced Digital Production Manager to join us in Chicago, IL, Washington, DC, or Berkeley, CA, to help us produce smart, aggressive ad programs, on track and on time, so our clients can reach -- and exceed -- their goals.

As a Digital Production Manager, you will serve as a bridge between the project leads who manage our clients, our creative shop, and our media team. Drawing on your experience with digital advertising, you will own the process and coordinate our team to get our clients’ ads made, approved, and delivered for traffic.

To accomplish this, the Digital Production Manager needs to:

  • Work collaboratively with team members across our three office locations, plus various off-site consultants and video production vendors
    • Report to head of our Creative Vertical. You will work together, especially initially, to coordinate expectations and plan forward
    • Communicate well and often with project leads to understand upcoming ad production needs/requirements and with designers to understand their workload
  • Respond quickly to new project assignments entering the workflow queue in the Asana Project Management platform
    • Assign work equitably and effectively to design team members
    • Weigh in on and give suggestions to improve our workflows and related documents
    • Organize workflow to meet specifications and deadlines, and monitor production to proactively resolve issues and ensure output meets quality standards
    • In consultation with creative team, provide production budget and timeline estimates to project leads, as needed
  • Collect, be aware of, and monitor adherence to client style guides
    • Help locate client-appropriate stock images and video clips, fonts, animation plugins, and Adobe resources as needed
  • Flag when our internal designers are approaching capacity
    • Manage relationships with several third-party contractors, and keep them on call for when internal capacity is tight
  • Respond to client requests for revisions and ensure designers have what they need to update the work, with an eye on the budget and final deadlines
  • Keep our Asana board humming, ensure completed work is properly filed in our Google Drive environment, and co-manage our Canto Digital Asset Management (DAM) system.

Ideal candidates will be college graduates with 4 or more years of professional political, nonprofit, or digital agency experience, with at least 2 of those years primarily focused on digital advertising production. We are looking for candidates who are passionate about digital advocacy and marketing and are committed to making a difference for our clients. Strong communications skills and familiarity with Asana or similar project management software are a must.

People with all types of experiences, backgrounds and interests can excel at this position. But we find that the following traits will help you succeed in this role:

  • You are organized: You are able to work on a variety of projects at the same time, each with their own client teams and goals, and enjoy developing systems to ensure that nothing falls through the cracks.
  • You have proven experience as production director. Deep knowledge of production management best practices and strong attention to detail.
  • You are familiar with the major digital ad platforms, their creative units, and requirements.
  • You are deadline-oriented: Our work is fast-turn and requires attention and dedication, so clients’ needs are always met
  • You have team spirit and value collaboration: You’ll chip in however you can to help get the project over the finish line. This will mean overtime as the cycle heats up.
  • You have a “can-do” attitude: If a client wants something beyond their budget or the available time, you’ll suggest a better, alternate idea or find a creative solution.
  • You are customer-service oriented, understanding that your customer will sometimes be a member of the internal team.
  • You are motivated by progressive goals and are committed to helping our Democratic and progressive cause-based clients make positive change.

While direct technical execution is not a required function of this role, we find that familiarity with the following techniques and technologies is helpful in this role. Please let us know if you have experience with:
